Jonathan Lowndes

Founding Partner

Family Law Civil Litigation Mediation

Called to the Bar in 1983 and admitted as a solicitor in 1985, Jonathan founded Lowndes, Reid & Co in 1987 with a vision to bring partner-level legal care to all clients. With over 35 years of practice, he is one of London's most experienced family solicitors and a trained mediator accredited by the Family Mediation Council. Jonathan is recognised in the Legal 500 as a "leading individual" for family law.

Sarah Reid

Managing Partner

Commercial Law Property Corporate

Sarah joined the firm as a partner in 1994 following a distinguished career at two Magic Circle firms. She leads the commercial and property departments and has particular expertise in business acquisitions, commercial leasehold work and cross-border transactions. Clients include FTSE 250 companies, private equity backed businesses and family-owned SMEs. Sarah is a member of the City of London Law Society and a visiting lecturer at City, University of London.

Dr. Michael Ashworth

Employment Law Immigration HR Advisory

Michael holds a doctorate in Employment Law from the London School of Economics and joined the firm in 2008 to establish our employment and immigration departments. He advises boards, HR directors and senior executives on complex employment matters, and has appeared before the Employment Appeal Tribunal on numerous occasions. Michael's immigration work encompasses both business immigration — including sponsor licence compliance — and complex individual applications. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Charlotte Davies

Wills & Probate Trusts Elder Law

Charlotte is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and leads our private client team. She specialises in complex estate planning, multi-jurisdictional probate matters and the creation of bespoke trust structures. Charlotte is particularly known for her work in vulnerable client care, Court of Protection applications and contested probate disputes. She joined the firm as an associate in 2006 and was made partner in 2012.

Ranjit joined Lowndes, Reid & Co in 2014 and has built a strong reputation for tenacious, results-driven litigation. He handles a high volume of personal injury claims — from road traffic accidents to complex clinical negligence cases — as well as criminal defence work ranging from police station attendance to Crown Court trials. Ranjit is a member of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) and is qualified to advise on legal aid matters.

Emily Walsh

Family Law Residential Property Cohabitation

Emily qualified as a solicitor in 2020 after completing her training contract at the firm. She supports our family and property teams, assisting clients with divorce and separation, financial remedy applications and residential conveyancing. Emily is praised by clients for her clear communication, thorough preparation and empathetic approach to sensitive matters. She holds a first-class LLB from University College London and is a Resolution member.

Thomas Brierley

Commercial Law Corporate Finance Contracts

Thomas joined the commercial team in 2018 following an LLM in Commercial Law from King's College London. He advises clients on corporate transactions, commercial contract drafting and business dispute resolution. Thomas has particular experience in technology sector transactions, SaaS agreements and data protection law — an increasingly important area for the firm's growing tech client base.
